Here are the pictures from our trip,
ENJOY!
We stopped over at the the salt flats in eastern Utah on the way over to Cali first for a little pit stop.
This is from the parking terrace of the Raddison we stayed at in S.F. It was the perfect place to stay because as you can see it's right on fisherman's wharf.
Waiting for the Trolley to go to Chinatown.
These next two are from Lombard Street "The Crooked Street".
Riding on the Trolley.
A good view of Alcatraz from pier 39
Some fat seal lions.
Downtown San Fran.
Some delicious sushi in Chinatown.
Golden Gate Bridge and Golden Gate Park.
This is what was left of a truck that caught on fire and stopped us for over an hour on I-80 going back to Utah.
We left on Saturday morning around 10am and drove over to Sacramento. On the way we stopped at Reno and ate at the Harrah's buffet thinking that it would be similar to Las Vegas. It wasn't. The food was not really good, maybe in between golden corral and Las Vegas. We got to Sacramento with no problems and stayed in a nice Double Tree Inn. The next day we left a little after 9am and drove to San Fran. It was nice seeing different scenery than Utah for a change. After we checked into our hotel we rode the trolley to chinatown and went and got some Dim Sum for lunch. I really liked, but Virginia only that it was ok. Then after lunch we just played tourist and saw Lombard st. Girradehli Square and fisherman's wharf. Monday we got up early and took a cable car over to the Venezuelan consulate for the passport appointment appointment (for those of you who don't know, that is the reason for the trip.) Everything went well and we were told to come back at 2pm. So we went and saw some more of pier 39 and then back for the appointment. After Virginia got her passport with no problems we went back checked out and drove over to the Golden Gate Bridge and hung out there for a while. Then we drove back to Roseville where we stayed Monday night. Tuesday was pretty boring, just traveled back to Utah. On the way back we ran into a huge traffic jam. They had shut down the freeway because a produce truck had caught fire. We were stuck for over an hour but luckily we had our trusty travel yahtzee game and a deck of cards. We arrived at home at around midnight Tuesday night.
In short that was the trip, sorry not a lot of color commentary, but as you can see there are a lot of pictures (that took a long time to upload), and I get sick of typing after a while. One thing I will say is that while in San Fran we didn't see any gay PDA. In a weird way I was kind of disappointed. Having never been to S.F. I had all these preconceived notions about how it would be. I half expected to see biker looking dudes walking down the street holding hand and snuggling on benches. But, nothing...

take care
That must have been a cool trip. What intrigues me is the burnt truck... what's in there? pallid cauliflowers?
You didn't go to the right section of town. The Castro is the heart of the gay community.
